Educators and trainers from the Digital Stories partner countries gathered in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from April 18th to 22nd, 2024, for a groundbreaking Trainers’ Training Programme hosted over five enriching days of professional development and the exchange of innovative teaching methodologies.
Beginning with an engaging session on the Digital Stories Project by Mr. Osman Çakır, followed by insightful discussions led by Dr. Büşra Tombak İlhan, the event delved into topics such as digital storytelling, early school leaving, and bullying dynamics. Led by experts like Prof. Joze Rugelj, Dr Neslihan Karakuş and Dr Polona Gradišek, participants explored game-based learning, the art of storytelling, and the hidden treasures of student character strengths.
During the training, the partners presented all ten developed modules (Fears, Honesty, School is My Second Home, Prejudices, Friendship, Share and Care, Everything Has an End, Ignorance is not Bliss, Green Skills, Flex your Boundaries). Moreover, Dr Michela Tramonti presented the online educational platform to empower teachers, educators, and trainers dealing with student learning difficulties and school dropouts.
By leveraging innovative approaches, educators were equipped with practical tools and methodologies to address student challenges effectively, foster a positive school environment, and curb dropout rates. In addition to the guided excursions to Ljubljana’s old town, educators not only absorbed a wealth of knowledge but also connected deeply, culminating in a reflective session led by Dr. Durmuş Barış Kır on the last training day.
